  • Do I need to pay extra if I need more time to complete the Pool or Open Water?
  • No, Gatwick Scuba's policy is to get every student through the course regardless of how many Pool Sessions or Open Waters are Required. Our role is produce compent & safe divers.
  • Why are your courses so much cheaper than your competitors?
  • Gatwick Scuba is one of only a few dedicated PADI training centres to own their own purpose built training facility with state of the art classrooms and purpose built heated training pool which enable us to reduce the costs to our clients as we don’t need to hire space in cold public swimming pools.
  • How easy is it to get to you?
  • By Car-Gatwick Scuba’s training facility is in Lingfield, Surrey with great links to the Southeast. We are 10 minutes from the M25 J6 using the A22 and 10 minutes from the M23 J9 using the A264.
  • By public transport we are connected to London via direct trains from London Victoria & London Bridge to Lingfield, the centre is then a short taxi ride away.
  • How long does the course take?
  • As a dedicated PADI centre we offer several options the main one being a One Day course where you come and spend the whole day at our training facility completing all the required modules for the classroom and pool. This is known as a Referral Course. Once you have completed this you are ready to do your Four Open Water Qualifying dives which can be done with us here in the UK or at any PADI centre worldwide which must be done over two days.
  • Why do you only teach Open Water Dives in Drysuits and does it cost extra?
  • After many years of watching students struggle to get comfortable with the colder waters generally found in the UK we decided to ensure our students have the same level of warmth and comfort that the teaching staff experience. When you look at many of our competitors the students are given wetsuits while the staff all wear Drysuits. In our opinion that is an unacceptable double standard. We do not charge any extra for our students to use Drysuits and all of our school suits also come with dry gloves to keep your hands toasty warm as well.
  • Do I need to buy any equipment for any of the courses.
  • No you are not required to purchase any equipment to do a course with Gatwick Scuba as we provide everything needed. However it is recommended throughout the diving industry that all divers own their own basic equipment such as Mask, Fins, Snorkel and ideally a Dive Computer which can be purchased via our shop after your course.
